Reception Class in Progress!

Posted in Uncategorised | No Comments »

The month of October was very exciting and we celebrated the best season of the year! We learnt about the Harvest, had our annual Halloween school party and enjoyed many creative and artistic activities!

Across the UK on the 5th of November, people gather and celebrate with bonfires, fireworks and sparklers the Bonfire Night, so did we!

We also remembered the 11th day of the 11th month of the year- a Remembrance day! An art project was created to whom who gave lives for the freedom today!

This Month

Our unit for this month is “Learn Every Day about Seasons.” Your child will learn how the weather changes throughout the year and how we call these changes “seasons.” He/she will name the four seasons and describe characteristics of each.We will talk about how we can notice the changes of the seasons by observing things in nature. Your child will learn to identify the changes in trees during each season. We will learn where snowflakes come from and how they are always unique. Your child will learn about activities that are usually specific to a certain season. This topic will slowly transition us to a most beautiful Christmas season and winter! Children are working very hard to make a wonderful Christmas production for their parents! We can’t wait to perform!

Autumn Time in Reception

It’s fall! The days are shorter and the nights are cooler. The leaves are turning yellow, red, and orange, giving a colorful salute to summer. We welcomed the Autumn into our classroom and celebrated this beautiful season in the local park! The nature walk is the part of our nature study. We were busy collecting a variety of leaves, exploring the nature in autumn and playing games.

Going to the Zoo Lyrics

Daddy’s taking us to the zoo tomorrow!
Zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow!
Daddy’s taking us to the zoo tomorrow!
We can stay all day

We’re going to the zoo (zoo zoo zoo!)
How about you (you you you!)
You can come too (too too too!)
We’re going to the zoo (zoo zoo!)

See the ELEPHANT with the long trunk swingin’
Great big ears and a long trunk swingin’
Snuffin’ up peanuts with a long trunk swingin’
And we can stay all day!

See all the MONKEYS scritch-scritch scratchin’
Jumpin’ around and scritch-scritch scratchin’
Hangin’ by the long-tail scritch-scritch scratchin’
And we can stay all day!

SEALS in the pool all honk-honk-honkin’
Catchin’ the fish and honk-honk-honkin’
Little seals all honk-honk-honkin’
And we can stay all day!

We stayed all day and I’m gettin’ sleepy
Sittin’ in the car gettin’ sleep sleep sleepy
Home already gettin’ sleep sleep sleepy
We have stayed all day.

We’ve been to the zoo zoo zoo!
So have you you you
You came too too too
We been to the zoo zoo zoo!

Reception children and families, welcome to our school!
